By default, the Macintosh version of the Windows Media Player is set
to look for a Browser Proxy. This is not typically used, and if you are not using one you
will receive the error message "Cannot connect to proxy." Please follow the
simple steps below to correct this error.
- Launch the Windows Media Player.
- Go to Edit > Preferences > Network Settings
- Look towards the bottom of the screen that comes up (see figure below). You will
see a checkbox that says HTTP.
- Below that are three radio buttons that say "No Proxy", "Use Browser
Proxy" and "Use Proxy".
- Select "No Proxy" then click "OK" at the bottom right corner of
the screen.
- Return to the web site. You should be able to hear the audio with no further
issues.
